Alleged NSA backdoors in North Korea Network Inform Decision to Pin Sony Hack to Pyongyang

On March 19, 2015, FIU was designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education through academic year 2019 by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Winners of the 2014 Cybersecurity Leadership and Innovation Awards have demonstrated they are serious about cybersecurity defense by putting into place systems, practices and policies that keep information safe for citizens.

Florida International University (FIU)’s commitment to cybersecurity is evidenced by their tackling of data loss prevention on an enterprise level with McAfee’s ePO (e Policy Orchestrator) and their implementation of a successful BYOD (bring your own device) secured wireless network for 30,000 devices daily. Additionally, FIU’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is one of the first public universities in the U.S. to offer undergraduate and graduate programs with a cybersecurity concentration.

The National Security Agency apparently knows with absolute certainty that North Korea was behind the recent Sony Pictures hacking, it has now emerged.
